Groups (CSV Uploads)
Groups are Bluebird's most powerful tool for creating customized experiences for your Attendees. They can help curate a personalized Agenda, narrow your audience for Announcements, and even show or hide Materials from certain audiences.
How To Download Your Groups CSV Template
The Groups CSV Template can be accessed from Bluebird Admin by navigating to the Groups page. On the top right of that page, select "Bulk Group Download." This will download the Groups CSV to your computer.
Reading the Groups CSV
The Groups CSV template has six key fields in columns A-F:
- ID: a user ID, assigned by Bluebird Admin. When you are uploading your Group CSV for the first time, leave this blank. However, if you are making updates to an existing Attendee list, it's important to make sure that this number matches the existing number for each Attendee.
- Email: the email address the Attendee uses to log in to this event.
- SSO ID: if your organization uses a SSO service to log in, list their password or other credentials here. Otherwise, leave this space blank.
- First Name, Last Name, Company: personal details about the Attendee.
Creating and Editing Groups Using CSV Upload
When you are creating or editing Groups, you must add the name of each group in the header row of a new column. An event with four groups might look like this:
Then, for each Attendee, mark the Groups they're in by entering TRUE in the corresponding cells.
For example, in an event with five Attendees, your CSV might look something like this:
This will create the groups GROUP A, GROUP B, GROUP C, and GROUP D, and assign our five attendees to the proper groups as indicated.
Uploading Your CSV
When your Attendee Groups CSV is filled out, navigate to the Groups tab in Bluebird Admin, and select Bulk Group Upload.
Select your CSV, and voila! Your event how has Groups.
