Running a Live Poll

Once you've Created a Poll, you will need to make a few important decisions about how your Attendees will experience it.

Poll Controls

Each Poll Question has its own individual controls, visible to the right of the Question text.

From left to right, those buttons are:

  • Activate / Deactivate
  • Show / Hide Results Page
  • Edit Question
  • Delete Question

Activating a Question

For any given Poll, a question must be Active in order for Attendees to submit responses. Only one Question at a time may be Active.

If there is no Active Question, the Attendee and Results pages will display a message instructing users to wait until a Question is made Active:

To Activate a Question, click the "Activate" button in the Poll Admin. This will open the poll to responses from all Attendees.

To change the Active Question, you can simply press "Activate" on another Question in the same Poll. This will Activate the new question and Deactivate the previous Question.

Show / Hide Results Page

This button toggles the Attendee Results Page, visible on the Attendee's device after they submit a response to the active Poll.

When this is set to Hide, then Attendees will see a confirmation page after they submit a response, but no results:

When this is set to Show, it displays the same results as the standalone Active Question Results Page. The advantage of using this view is that your Attendees can see live results without needing to navigate anywhere else on their devices.

Other Things To Keep In Mind

Polls do not keep track of users' identities, so we cannot create Reports for polling questions.

We do not track the precise number of Attendee responses; only the overall percentages of responses.
